Company History

Store Opening Solutions was founded in July 1995 as a subsidiary of Famous Fixtures and Famous Footwear. SOS management had analyzed the supply chain process and recognized that significant savings could be achieved for retailers by consolidating the delivery of store fixtures and graphics. Over time the concept was refined, a centrally located distribution center established, and experienced management teams were brought together. In the fall of 1995, Store Opening Solutions began providing retailers these integrated services.

  In January 1998, the Marmon Group acquired Store Opening Solutions making it a member of Marmon Retail Services Group. Significant investments were made in staff infrastructure, facilities, and system capabilities. In 2005, Pete Dencker joined Store Opening Solutions to build a new business unit that provided the customer with additional services including installation, merchandising and project management support. This new division grew under Pete’s leadership, acquiring another fixture and millwork company, Alexander Otto, also in 2005. 

In 2009, Pete purchased the Services Division of Store Opening Solutions from The Marmon Group, forming SOS Retail Services. Today, SOS Retail Services operates in all 50 states and Canada from its headquarters in Franklin Tennessee with a regional office in Dallas Texas.
